An exercise workout is as important to the human body as eating or sleeping. The benefits of regular physical fitness has been proven to help prevent the onset of diseases such as many cancers, heart disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. But in all cases, being fit and doing an exercise workout regularly can just make you feel and look better.

There are three exercise groups that all physical fitness activities reside: flexibility, aerobic and anaerobic.Stretching exercises like yoga help to improve the range of motion of muscles and joints. As you get older your flexibility decreases unless you continue to make an effort to remain limber. Stretching exercises can aid in maintaining proper posture, prevention of back pain and help with arthritis. It will also help prevent you from getting injured when you exercise.

Aerobic exercises help to build your cardiovascular system. Walking, running and biking are all activities that increase your endurance and build a healthy heart. The heart like any muscle in your body needs exercise and this is occurs through aerobic exercises.

Anaerobic exercises such as weight training increase muscle strength. It is important to keep your muscles toned and strong. Working out with weights will break down the muscles allowing the body to repair them stronger.

Proper nutrition is at least as important to health as exercise. When you are exercising it is important that you provide your body with the proper nutrients to help aid with recovery. 

Rest and recovery are important components of a healthy exercise regime. If you continue to break down the body without giving it time to repair itself then the body will not improve from the exercise.

Ever feel sore after exercising? That is the result of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. It can occur after any kind of exercise, particularly if the body is not conditioned for the movements that the physical activity requires.

Frequent and regular exercise has been shown to help prevent or to cure major illnesses such as high blood pressure, obesity, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, insomnia, cancer and depression, and many more diseases. The actual reduction is always being studied but there is evidence to suggest that participating in an exercise workout that will engage your cardiovascular system 20 minutes a day, three time a week at a minimum, will greatly improve your fitness and benefit your health. The fact is, people who employ an exercise workout regimine to their lives always say they feel better.
