For the third year running, Gaymers cider is delighted to sponsor the Somerset Celebration of Food which takes place in October. Based in the heart of cider country, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, Gaymers cider has been produced here since the 1770s and is currently the second largest cider maker in the UK. Our portfolio of brands includes Gaymers original and pear, Blackthorn, the naturally cloudy cider Addlestones, Gaymers Orchard Reserve and Gaymers County Series.
While production principles remain true to the oldest traditions, the mill at Shepton Mallet is the most modern, efficient and flexible cider production facility in the world - regularly pressing tens of thousands of tonnes of fruit each season and producing a wide range of different ciders.
On October 13 and 20, we are offering the
Celebration of Food readers the exclusive chance to undertake a cider mill tour and to come and see for themselves exactly what is involved in producing our extensive range of delicious ciders. On both these days one of our master cider makes will be taking a maximum of 25 people (over 18s) on a guided tour of the mill. They will also be treated to an enlightening tasting session of our ciders before a relaxing afternoon tea is served in the cider mill. For details on how you can take part visit the Celebration of Food website -
