October is what foodies have been waiting for! Throughout the month, over 240 food and drink events are taking place from Bristol to the tip of Cornwall, making it the biggest food festival of its kind in the UK.
There's something for everyone, from festivals such the Falmouth Oyster Festival and the North Devon Foodfest to fine dining events in individual restaurants, to fun foodie fun for kids.
There's also an Eat out for £10 dining promotion taking place across the month, so that credit-crunch hit consumers can eat at some of the best restaurants at a tasty discount.
The Celebration is taking place for the first time this year in Somerset, Bath and Bristol and has been running for seven years in Devon and four in Cornwall. So wherever you live there are some great opportunities for a foodie mini-break.
The Celebration is run by food magazine and the September-October issues of food will feature all of the events taking place in this year's Celebration. Pick the free magazines up at the best restaurants, cafes, delis and foodie hotels across the South West. Also keep an eye on the following publications for more information and competitions and special offers in October: olive magazine, the North Devon Journal, the Western Gazette, the West Briton, The Cornishman, the Cornish Guardian, Cornwall Today, and listen to Bristol's Star FM.

A very British take on the famous Munich Beer Festival with flagons of local ales & ciders and locally produced sausages backed by a swinging brass band.
Celebrity street cooking, seafood stalls, masterclasses and a food quiz are just some of what will be delighting foodies at Dartmouth Food Festival from October 21-26. Starting on the afternoon of Wednesday 21, Mitch Tonks, celeb chefs Michael Caines and Fergus Henderson will be cooking outside in the town, and will follow this up with drinks and canapes at a presentation at the Flavel Centre. Thursday will see a children's tea party and workshops, and a dinner at Alf Resco's, and throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be food stalls on The Embankment, masterclasses at venues across town, and live music and cooking demos.
On the 11th and 18th October, we will be serving a veal roast; supplied by a welfare-friendly veal farm in south-east Cornwall, on 'Bocaddon farm'.
Owners Jon and Vicky Brown believe "it is the right time to shout about the virtues of welfare-friendly veal". The calves are reared on their farm and slaughtered within 15 miles of the farm. After being hung for 7-10 days (which improves both the texture and the flavour of the meat) they are cut by the on-farm butchery.
Head chef of the One Eyed Cat 'Dave Trewin', will be cooking a veal roast to show how beautifully tasty veal is. "Over the years veal has acquired a bad reputation and we want to show you the benefits of using this wonderful product".
On the evening of the 18th Oct, Jon Brown will be coming to the One Eyed Cat to talk about veal, the different cuts and the virtues of his welfare-friendly veal.
Dave will be serving veal canapes and any questions will be answered by our expert.
Tickets for masterclass event are £10 per person.
